Job Description:

Your role will include, but is not limited to, the creation of tools using high level scripting languages (Python, Mel, C# & Batch). You will also be responsible for implementing solutions & debugging problems within the game engine (Unity) and authoring software (Maya). You may be responsible for the creation or implementation of visual effects, character rigs and other technical setups within the game and pipeline. You will work in collaboration with the rest of the tech team to create the highest quality solutions possible within time constraints, and be a positive contributor in group discussions and team goals.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in creation of art tools, pipelines & processes
  • Providing front line support to the Art & animation teams, helping the team with problems
  • Help with rigging, skinning and other character art and animation technical tasks
  • Support the Environment & VFX teams with asset production

Job Requirements:

Qualifications & Assets:
  • Proactive in seeking out problems & inefficiency’s in process
  • Basic scripting skills using Python or other scripting language (in mods or personal projects)
  • Familiarity with Python, Mel or Max script
  • Strong interest in game development and art tools development
  • Basic understanding of character rigging, binding and setup using Maya, Max or Blender 3d
  • Interest in educational and family gaming genre

An exceptional candidate will also have these qualities:
  • Experience in developing games, including working in the game mod community
  • Experience using Unity, UE3 or Crytek game engine and tools
  • Experience creating particle effects
  • Skilled with Adobe Photoshop
  • Experience setting up lighting and working with camera tools in Maya or Unity
  • Computer science or programming background
  • Work experience or education in children’s media or art education fields
  • Self-directed and highly motivated
