Job Description:

As a Systems Administrator you will be responsible for the health and operations of our Windows platform and server products, with a main focus on operational activities, proactive capacity management and event monitoring. You will also contribute to the execution of various projects and will act as a second level support for the UNIX and Microsoft systems under your responsibility (including 7/24 live support).
 
Responsibilities:
 
·         Responsible for the proper daily operations of the Online Games and Products, under their responsibility, such as Web and Systems
·         Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis, both on UNIX and Microsoft systems. Upgrade administrative tools and utilities
·         Monitor system events to ensure health, maximum system availability and service quality
·         Participate to the backups and restoration of UNIX and Microsoft systems, disaster recovery procedures
·         Advanced troubleshooting of emergency situations on the network, must be able to work flexible hours and overtime as required
·         Perform system & application patching and upgrade of equipment firmware
·         Maintain documentation regarding configurations, operations and troubleshooting procedures related to all TRC services
·         Participate to the definition of standards, guidelines, best practices and metrics as directed
·         Assist in evaluating new requirements, technical design and standards
·         Setup and maintain Development, Staging and Production environments using best practices, including scripts, monitoring

Job Requirements:

Skills:
 
·         At least 2 to 3 years functional Operations, NOC or System Administration experience
·         Awareness of a variety of Server Technologies, including Cloud and Physical
·         Experience with Automation Software for Server Management such as Puppet, Chef, OpsWise
·         Experience setting up and using monitoring tools like Zabbix, Nagios, netstat, ss, iostat, vmstat, top
·         Skilled in designing best practices for backups, data rotation and log analysis
·         Familiar with network services in cloud such as Content delivery networks (Akamai, CloudFront)
·         2 years in Linux System Administration and troubleshooting, bash scripting
·         Installing, configuring, and maintaining services such as Apache, MySQL
·         Experience with administering noSQL solutions such as Redis and MongoDB
·         Designing best practices for backups, and whole infrastructure
·         Experienced with Cisco network equipment such as routers and switches
·         Strong network knowledge, including subnets, VLAN, Routing, NAT
·         Ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical personnel
 
Desirable Skills:
 
·         Experience within internet or gaming industries
·         ITIL Working background or certification
·         Ticket/Call management software such as JIRA
·         Cloud Technology in Amazon or Rackspace
·         Working knowledge of standard networking, systems and database principles
·         Experience in developing monitoring solutions such as Zabbix or Nagios
·         CCNA an advantage

·         Works well under pressure and independently
·         A can-do attitude, capable of leading and motivating others
·         Must possess and demonstrate creative problem solving skills
·         Demonstrates strong quantitative, analytical and conceptual thinking skills
·         Must work well within a time sensitive environment

·         Strong team player able to accept advice and guidance to improve own performance and development of experience
·         Strong communication skills, with fluency in written as well as verbal English essential
