Job Description:

We're looking for a UX Architect who can demonstrate innovation, initiative, and leadership in a nimble creative agency with a social mission. We’re a small shop, so we’re looking for someone who is has interesting skills and background, plays well in a team, and is a great communicator. We're not into advanced degrees or big names. We just want to see good work.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Act as the primary thought-leader on usability and experience at LimeRed Studio
  • Plan and research usability and design for interactive projects
  • Develop and execute methods for audience and user mapping
  • Create user personas and scenarios 
  • Develop user experience guidelines and requirements for all interactive projects and ensure their consideration in design and development 
  • Develop information architecture, site maps and wireframes
  • Develop and lead testing on prototypes
  • Collaborate with the design and development team to draft site plans, technical specs and execute project builds
  • Assist with content strategy
  • Provide assistance or lead SEO and Google Analytics evaluation, analysis and recommendations
  • Write User Guides and lead client trainings
  • Research and experiment with new technology and usability theory that will advance future projects
  • Meet with clients and lead conversations on the direction of user experience
  • Contribute to the mission of LimeRed Studio by participating in activities, lead public discussions, workshops and writing relevant blog posts for our audiences

JOB DETAILS:
  • This is a full-time job on site at our office in Ravenswood. There are opportunities to work from home after 90 days.
  • Extremely generous number of vacation days including every third Friday of the month

Job Requirements:

HERE’S THE KIND OF PERSON WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and be able to simplify complex ideas 
  • 2 to 3 years of experience
  • Is creative and forward thinking
  • Understands the fundamentals of design, usability and web architecture
  • Can be proactive when working through a project, can look at a whole picture 
  • Has knowledge of web programming languages including HTML5, XHTML/CSS required. PHP, MySQL, Javascript, AJAX, jQuery and other programming skills are a huge bonus!
  • Has some knowledge of CMS platforms like Drupal, Expression Engine, Wordpress or other Content Management Systems
  • Familiar with Foundation 4 and other responsive front-end frameworks
  • Has advanced skills in Adobe CC, particularly Illustrator and Photoshop and experience working with designers to translate code
  • Ability to multi-task, set priorities and meet deadlines
  • Has an online portfolio of work and can show sample code
