Job Summary:

 

The UI / UX Designer works with the Engineering, Product Management and Marketing teams to define, analyze, and prototype both mobile and web-based software solutions.  

 

If you are a creative, highly motivated individual with a talent for digesting complex information, analyzing it, and producing simple, easy-to-use interface design concepts for software solutions, we want to talk to you! 

 

The responsibilities of the Software UI/UX Designer are:

 

  • Apply strategic thinking to design and deliver innovative end-to-end user experiences that optimize/balance user needs, business goals, and technological realities across web and mobile platforms.
  • Collaborate effectively with Product Management, Development, Marketing, and other team members, and be directly responsible for delivering compelling User Experience visions.
  • Translate complex functional business requirements and use cases into simple, easy to understand design concepts and documentation (storyboard, prototypes, workflows, etc.) so they can be communicated effectively to internal leaders, partners, and customers.
  • Provide elegant and simple interface design solutions that maintain the integrity of the product offering as a whole.
  • Author highly detailed design documentation as reference material for the Product Management, Development, Quality Assurance, and Training teams.
  • Stay on top of industry trends and make recommendations about how they can be applied to Autotask's applications.
  • Exercise facilitative leadership skills to drive to the best outcome for all stakeholders.

Job Requirements:

Successful candidates will have the following skills and experience:

 

  • 3+ years’ experience in User Interface / User Experience (UI/UX) design; proficiency in web applications and workflow; ability to transfer web experiences to mobile platforms.
  • Strong understanding of usability best practices and the ability to apply them to web applications.
  • Proficient with PowerPoint, Word, and the Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with Adobe Photoshop, Dreamweaver and the software prototyping tool Axure is a plus.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills.
  • A proven record of creative, out-of-the-box thinking.
  • Highly detail-oriented.
  • Able to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Self-directed, self-motivated, positive attitude, enthusiasm, and a desire for continuous improvement.
  • Experience/familiarity with professional service software and/or the IT Services domain is a strong plus.
  • Portfolio of design work will be required prior to interview.
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in a related field: HCI a plus.
