Job Description:

Rocksauce Studios, renowned for our creative talent & exceptional artistry in the mobile industry, is looking for a talented, curious, and ambitious Mobile UX/Interaction Designer to join our team of rockstars.

Our UX Team helps craft the strategy for our Appreneur & Brand products. Their job is to live & breathe everything about the mobile industry, including current trends in software, interaction, present web trends, and what the competitive landscape will look like for a given client. Our teams focus on more than creating great interaction design. We architect user interactions based on business goals, best monetization strategies based on demographics, and focus on creating an intuitive software strategy.

Oh, and of course, make sure they are creating product users actually want to play with. After all, this is an interactive media.

Job Requirements:

What We’re Looking for

Candidates should be inquisitive & curious, never afraid to take a risk when it comes to pushing the current conventions of interaction design, but capable of recognizing the difference between innovation & “gimmick.” You should be outgoing & enjoy talking to others, sharing your work, and getting feedback. Criticism shouldn’t be seen as a failure, but as an opportunity to make things better.

Daily Duties

  • Creating Logic Maps of product features
  • Writing detailed user stories & acceptance criteria
  • Creating detailed, fully-fleshed out application or website tap-throughs using prototype software
  • Creation of Competitive Analysis documentation using Adobe InDesign
  • Tap-through/wireframe user testing & feedback integration
  • Product Strategizing - MVP identification, must-have feature definition, interface paradigms, monetization options, and versioning

Position Requirements

  • 2+ years of UX or Information Architecture experience for web or mobile applications
  • Experience with user testing, including having a preferred testing methodology for wireframing/mockups
  • Ability to assimilate & translate user feedback after testing
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite or Graphics Programs for creation purposes. Illustrator, InDesign & Photoshop in-particular
  • Strong communication skills - written & verbal
  • Experience speaking to customers & validating your choices
  • Comfort with AB testing of concepts & collection of user feedback
  • Understanding that UX is a different discipline from Graphic Design. The job of the UX artist is to establish function, navigation and screen flow.
  • Other artists will establish form, branding and aesthetics further down the pipeline.
  • Genuine desire to work in a collaborative environment, where feedback comes from all angles
  • Willingness to incorporate the “best solution,” even if it’s not “your solution”
  • Be deadline driven, willing to do what it takes to get a great solution when it’s required

Big Pluses (but not required)

  • Experience with Axure
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite; especially InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • Exceptional graphic design & UI skills
  • Knowledge of HTML & CSS
  • What We Need to Consider You

    • Portfolio of projects (online preferred) - showcasing your UX work, as well as final product, and detailing process
    • At least 3 mobile projects you are particularly proud of & the reasons why
    • Resume with work history & skill set
    • List of at least 3 references who can vouch for your abilities as a UX creative

    What You Get

    • Company meal every Friday
    • One of the Best Vacation Policies in the Industry! Every overtime hour earns you significant PTO
    • Genuinely collaborative team environment where quality & hard-work are rewarded
    • Flexible schedule with core work hours, focused on results not hours in the office
    • Solid compensation package, with insurance & benefits
    • Daily access to the Chief Corgi Officer
