Job Description:

Boston Interactive is looking for a Senior User Experience Designer with outstanding conceptual design skills and a strong understanding of information architecture and user-centered design principles. Qualified candidates will be nimble, flexible and strategic. Must be able to deliver what’s needed even when it’s not requested. Also, be able to adjust to climate changes and deliver what’s required without being wasteful or too rigid.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as UX lead on client engagements, translating business needs into user experience solutions that meet the needs of complex organizations
  • Conduct effective research, including competitive analysis, user and stakeholder interviews, analytics assessment, and heuristic analysis
  • Develop and provide successful strategic and tactical design recommendations based on usability findings and standard design practices
  • Develop and present effective site strategies, site maps, wireframes, and user flows
  • Facilitate on-site & off-site design workshops to gain consensus and inform design. Be a leader and champion of collaborative techniques
  • Create functional prototypes, testing scripts and conduct user testing
  • Create and document complex site/ application information and interaction designs

Leadership:

  • Set an example in the department with your work ethic and ability to multi-task and deliver on tight deadlines and in pressure situations
  • Advocate for collaboration and internal cross-pollination with designers, technology & management

Job Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years experience as an Information Architect, Interaction Designer, Experience Designer or similar role
  • Be versed in all forms of UX research activities and deliverables, able to bring in or adapt to new activities where appropriate
  • Strong knowledge of interaction design and methodology
  • Demonstrated experience in using web analytics to inform design decisions
  • Familiarity with current web development technologies and standards, including HTML5, CSS3, Javascript, and AJAX
  • Strong presentation presence, client management skills and sales expertise to jump into a sales pitch, resolve a sticky client conflict, and understand complicated client needs
  • Detail-oriented and highly developed organizational skills including the ability to prioritize tasks
  • Ability to manage, delegate & multi-task towards deadlines
  • Experience designing for mobile and responsive design
  • Experience in visual design and/or development a plus
